President George W. Bush Backstabs America With War
In the months leading up to Gulf War II the American public was continually reminded that Weapons of Mass Destruction were being manufactured by Saddam Hussein, the dictator of Iraq. While it can’t be argued that Saddam was a vicious and murderous leader of those he ruled, the reasons we went to war was not that offense, but the “threat” to our nations survival, should Saddam use his WMD’s.
Bush’s administration was instrumental in persuading the majority of the American public and the U.N. Security Council that the proof was in hand. Satellite photos, “sources” close to Saddam Hussein, and other evidence proved that action needed to be taken. So convincing was Washington, that major and respected newspapers were given “inside” knowledge of the proof and ran stories validating Washington’s position and giving credibility to the lies.
Announcing the invasion of Iraq on March 19, 2003, Mr. Bush said, “Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised.”
Two months into the war, on May 29, 2003, Mr. Bush said weapons of mass destruction had been found.
“We found the weapons of mass destruction. We found biological laboratories,” Mr. Bush told Polish television. “For those who say we haven’t found the banned manufacturing devices or banned weapons, they’re wrong, we found them.”
On Sept. 9, 2004, in Pennsylvania, Mr. Bush said: “I recognize we didn’t find the stockpiles [of weapons] we all thought were there.”
In fact, WMD’s were never discovered and Saddam Hussein had no WMD manufacturing program in place. The loss of credibility among the American public and other nation’s trust in American leadership was only outweighed by the personal gains of Cheney-Halliburton connection and others who profited from that war – and the following conflicts now taking place in the Middle East
