The Whining Backstabber
The whining backstabber can be found anywhere. Though closely related to the Complaint Backstabber, they don’t go over your head – formally.
This backstabber will instead whine and complain to your peers and subordinates about you, instead of speaking with you directly. Whatever their little perceived wrong is they will let everyone they speak with know about it.
It is this backstabber that hopes a sympathetic ear will approach your boss on their behalf, or simply create animosity toward you from your co-workers in the belief that you will receive a reprimand, or lose respect from your peers.
These backstabbers are usually new to the art of backstabbing and new to the workplace. They are most often young, still thinking that high school drama is acceptable among adults. They often have multiple targets at one time. It isn’t long before someone will inform you of this backstabber in your midst.
More often than not, they are short lived employees. Never happy or content, feeling they are constantly wronged, they quickly move on to another employer where they repeat their backstabbing until maturity arrives for them.
